Egypt Ministry of Industry and Trade (MFTI) new regulation - 24 products need to be registered and issued with CoC compliance certification, no longer accept CIQ.

On December 30, 2015, Egypt's Ministry of Industry and Trade issued new regulations requiring manufacturers of 24 kinds of goods exported to Egypt to register with the Egyptian General Administration of Import and Export Control (GOEIC).
Egyptian customs will not release the products of the manufacturers who have not completed the registration.

This means that Egypt no longer accepts CIQ, and in addition to textiles which have been included in the scope of control, 23 new products have also been included in the scope of VOC control this time, and COC certificate is required!

The new rules will take effect on March 1, 2016, just two months after their introduction.

At the end of 2011, the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Trade (MFTI) issued two directives, stipulating that textile and leather products need to be inspected before each shipment and obtain a certificate of conformity before entering the Egyptian market.
The directive will come into force on April 1, 2012.


1. Regulations on textiles-626/20112, controlled products are:

Textile products, including yarns and fabrics used in garments, home textiles, furniture and carpets

Other textile accessories, such as sewing thread, labels, zippers, elastic bands, buttons, belts and shoulder pads, are not covered by the Act.

2. Decree on Leather Goods-660/2011

Scope of control: natural leather, synthetic leather, footwear and its components, handbags

Cosmetics, skin care products, dental care products, deodorant, bath products, perfume, retail soap, soap cleaning products

3. Sanitary products

Floor Covering Products, Tableware and Kitchen Utensils, Bathtubs, Washing Sites, Toilets, Toilet Paper, Dressing Paper, Tiles, Glass Tables, Military Iron Utensils, Stoves, Fryer

4. Electrical products

Air conditioning, fans, washing machines, blenders, water heaters and other household appliances, furniture and office furniture, bicycles, motorcycles and electric vehicles, clocks, household lighting equipment

5, baby supplies

Diapers, children's toys

Certificate of trademark registration or letter of authorization
