Uganda PVOC/COC certification control scope
Controlled Products: Products in the prohibited product list and the exempt product list are not covered by the control. Uganda's Pre-Export Conformity Assessment Program covers the following categories:
1. The toy
2. Electronic and electrical products
3. Auto related products (such as car glass, starter batteries, tires, etc.)
4. Chemical
5. Metal materials and gas appliances
6. Textiles, Leather, Plastic and Rubber
7. Furniture
8. Paper and stationery
9. Labor protection products
10. Food

There are three methods of PVOC testing in Uganda:

The ROUTE A: cargo Inspection and product testing (the Shipment Inspection and Certification), the way way is mainly suitable for small amount of annual exports Uganda exporters/manufacturers (generally not more than three times), the ROUTE, A of the the goods transport to Uganda must be conducted before Shipment product performance test and field test, to prove that the product is in conformity with relevant standards, basic product requirements or manufacturers specifications.
This method applies to any trade body.

Route B: Application for Product Registration and Shipment Certification This ROUTE is mainly used by exporters/manufacturers who export a wide range of products each year.
Registration is valid for one year.
Registered products are exempt from mandatory testing when they are shipped, and the certification process is just a basic on-site inspection.
However, during the registration period, random testing of registered products will still be required to ensure product compliance.

Route C: This method is applicable to the factory.
