Canadian CSA Certification

CSA stands for Canadian Standards Association. Founded in 1919, CSA was Canada's first non-profit organization dedicated to the development of industrial Standards.
In 2001, CSA was divided into three associations: Canadian Standards Association, Management System Certification and International Certification Association. The organization responsible for International certification is CSA International, headquartered in Toronto.
Electronic, electrical and other products sold in the North American market are required to obtain safety certification.
Currently, CSA is Canada's largest safety certification body and one of the world's most famous safety certification bodies.
It can provide safety certification for machinery, building materials, electrical appliances, computer equipment, office equipment, environmental protection, medical fire safety, sports and entertainment and other aspects of all types of products.
CSA has provided certification services to thousands of manufacturers around the world, and hundreds of millions of products bearing the CSA logo are sold in the North American market each year.

Information required to apply for CSA certification

1. Copier of company information sheet and business license

2. Product description (product name, product model, product use)

3. Table of parts and components

4. Product performance specifications such as size, rated voltage, current, frequency, power, etc

5. Provide circuit schematic diagram: PCB schematic diagram, product photos, operation instructions, safety matters and safety instructions, etc

6. Structure drawing and explosion drawing: the names of the parts of the product structure drawing shall be indicated in the drawing to facilitate the corresponding of the parts.

Canadian CSA certification application process

1. Complete the preliminary application form and submit it to CSA International together with all relevant product specifications and technical data

2. CSA Intermational will determine the certification fee according to the specific situation of the product, and then notify the applicant company by fax.

3. A formal application form and notification will be sent to the applicant company after confirmation

4. The designated laboratory will conduct the certification work on a timely basis.

5. After the certification test is completed, a preliminary report will be issued to the applicant company

6. CSA International will evaluate the applicant's response to item 5 above.

7. At the same time, CSA International will prepare a certification report for production reference and follow-up inspection

8. At this stage, at some point, CSA International will come to the factory for an initial assessment of the work

9. Finally, CSA International issues a certificate of conformity along with the certification record, authorizing the applicant company to place the CSA certification mark on the product.

10. The Applicant shall sign a Service Agreement with CSA International in which both parties agree that CSA International will conduct follow-up inspection of work products.
The applicant company pays an annual fee to maintain the agreement.

Canadian IC Certification

IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada, is the abbreviation of the Ministry of Industry of Canada, is the Ministry of Industry of Canada's analog and digital terminal equipment testing standards, 

it stipulates that imported electronic products must pass the relevant EMC certification.

Therefore, IC certification is the electronic and electrical products into the Canadian market pass and necessary conditions.

Like the U.S. FCC, IC currently only limits electromagnetic interference.
The certification method is also the same as FCC, VOC, DOC and D certification three ways, ID needs local agent.
