Qatar COC Certification

Certificate of Compliance (COC) is required for import clearance of auto parts, automobile tires and some electronic products exported to Qatar.
The Qatari government, through the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Trade and the Qatar Standard Measurement Organization (QGOSM), has issued a series of strict regulations on car parts and tyres.

Qatari exporters need to be aware of these strict regulations for auto parts and tires and obtain a certificate of compliance.
At present, some electronic products are also included in it.
"Controlled products are only allowed to be imported for customs clearance after the submission of a Certificate of Conformity (COC) issued by an authorized certification body in the country of origin," the local government said in a statement.
The government also said: "If imports are found to be non-compliant with Gulf Standards Organisation (GSO) standards, importers will be subject to heavy penalties.

The following products are controlled products included in the implementation of Phase I and Phase II projects:

Automobile tires

Seat belts

Rim

Brake pads

Electric fan

Electric iron

Hair dryer

Automobile tyres are regulated products but a separate Certificate of Compliance (COC) is not currently required as Qatar Customs and Qatar Standards Measurement Organization (QGOSM) accept the Gulf Standards Organization Certificate of Compliance (COC) rather than the Qatar Certificate of Compliance (COC) for imports of automobile tyres from Qatar.

A Certificate of Compliance (COC) issued by an authorized authority should be applied for for each lot of imported goods containing controlled products before shipment.
The Certificate of Compliance (COC) is a mandatory document for import clearance in Qatar, which is submitted by the importer for import clearance in the controlled category of goods.
A Certificate of Conformity (COC) certifies that the controlled product complies with the appropriate standard of the Qatar/Gulf Standards Organization or equivalent international standard.
